Plane Jane and Chappell Roan have finally met, and fans have a lot of feelings about it.
Back in June, the Drag Race season 16 star turned heads when she shared a hot take about the ‘Hot To Go’ singer and her love for drag.
“Will I get tomatoes thrown at me if I say Cha Pelle Ro-Anne’s love for drag feels performative as fuck. No shade queen, secure the bag,” she wrote.
Shortly after uploading her controversial opinion, Plane received overwhelming backlash from Chappell fans and Drag Race viewers, resulting in her deleting the tweet.
However, in true Plane fashion, the ‘Burger Finger’ performer continued to troll her followers by saying she ‘loves’ the ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ singer and that her favourite song of hers is ‘Itty bitty piggy’.
Referencing her viral suit and tie meme, Plane also tweeted that she “ran into Chappell Roan at my last gig and she tipped me this?!!!” with the aforementioned photo.
On 11 September, a new chapter of the ‘Plane Jane and Chappell Roan saga’ hit social media when she dressed up as the hit songstress in a ‘Pinky Pony Club‘-inspired ensemble for the MTV Video Music Awards.
Of course, the move sparked major discourse on X, with fans split over the drag performer’s decision.
One person wrote: “Plane Jane at the VMAs dressed up as Chappell Roan acting like she’s scared of the cameras this bitch is playing with FIRE tonight— I’m fucking SCREAMING.”
Another viewer tweeted: “Plane Jane is the troll of of the Rupaul universe. There have been shady people but she’s the first I can think of to work like an internet troll. Do we feed the trolls? Is it art? Is it good TV (Obviously: Team Chappell Roan here.)”

A third fan added: “I don’t think Chappell Roan who loves Divine, one of the most crass drag queens of all time, is bothered by shady banter from Plane Jane. She loves drag, she knows the medium and respects it greatly. Tired of seeing the viral tweets from the chronically online.”
While Plane’s Chappell Roan drag reignited the discourse from June, the two talents seemingly shut down any feud rumours when they were later spotted backstage together at the VMAs.
In a brief video capturing the moment, the drag star is heard joking about the authenticity of her breastplate, which made the ‘Casual’ singer laugh.

Plane also gave further insight into their exchange on X, writing: “Chappell and I crossed paths, and she said she loved my look! People on here are jealous bitter losersss.”
In response to their VMAs crossover, one fan proposed the end of the two fandoms’ feud, writing: “I think we can lay to rest the petty beef against Plane now, I had a feeling this was supposed to be an inside Joke.”
Another X user commented: “I’ve been thinking throughout this whole dilemma that chappel LOVES drag, and would probably actually love what plane did.”

Plane Jane discourse aside, Chappell first shot to international fame earlier this year with the release of her stand-alone pop anthem, ‘Good Luck, Babe!’, which was met with acclaim for its unapologetic queerness and themes of compulsory heterosexuality.
Chappell’s 2023 debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, subsequently began to climb the worldwide charts; it recently hit number-one in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand, and currently sits in the runner-up position in the U.S.
Additionally, various tracks from the album have become sleeper hits such as ‘Pink Pony Club’, ‘Red Wine Supernova’ and ‘Hot to Go!’ – especially the latter, which went viral as a result of its music video’s iconic choreography.
