The trailer for the first-ever Drag Race Global All Stars is here, and it’s insane.
Premiering on 16 August with two episodes in the UK, the season will see 12 different franchises throw down for the title of ‘Queen of the Mothertucking World’, a grand prize of $200,000 and a spot in the “International Pavilion at the Drag Race Hall of Fame”.
The fierce line-up is as follows: Alyssa Edwards (U.S.), Athena Sorgelikis (Belgium), Eva Le Queen (Philippines), Gala Varo (Mexico), Kitty Scott-Claus (UK), Kween Kong (Down Under), Miranda Lebrão (Brazil), Nehellenia (Italy), Pythia (Canada), Soa de Muse (France), Tessa Testicle (Germany) and Vanity Vain (Sweden).
In the trailer, which has sent fans into a “state of shock” as a result of the “utter slayage”, the queens showcase their runways and talents on a shiny new stage. From pole dancing to gymnastics and dragon-slaying, the inevitable Variety/Slay It Forward Extravaganza will be one for the herstory books.
“This is about to be the Drag Race season of the YEAR! Now this is how you do a trailer!” one fan commented on the YouTube trailer, while Philippines runner-up and UK vs the World icon Marina Summers spoke for all of us as she said: “You had me at “PUTANGINAAAAAA” hahahaha.”
A third wrote: “No I literally got chills LMAO.”
Guest judges have also been revealed, with main panellists RuPaul, Michelle Visage and Jamal Sims joined by Adriana Lima, Ariadna Gutiérrez-Arévalo, Carson Kressley, Danna Paola, Dianne Brill and Graham Norton.
Deep breath for even more sickening star power: Jasmine Tookes, Javier Ambrossi, Javier Calvo, Matt Rogers, Ross Mathews and Ts Madison.
Ahead of the series premiere, RuPaul said the world is “not ready for RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars“: “Twelve queens representing their home countries raises the stakes to a whole new level. Plus, the international mix of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent will, pardon my French, blow your f***ing minds.”
Global All Stars will air in the UK on WOW Presents Plus.
