“This is insane”: Fans react to this week’s shocking Drag Race UK episode

The second episode of Drag Race UK has arrived and it was full of twists, turns and a shocking exit.

Spoilers ahead.

Following the events of the larger-than-life premiere, the queens returned to the workroom to gag over everyone being safe from elimination and Kyran Thrax’s win.

“I feel on top of the world,” the London-based queen exclaimed. “Immunity, baby.”

In an additional confessional, Kyran added: “I came in guns blazing, and it’s only going to get crazier.”

The next day, the ladies met up with RuPaul to receive their second maxi-challenge of the season.

“Today, the competition starts officially. Now, to kick things off, I want you to put yourselves in four teams of three,” Ru revealed.

After a hilarious and chaotic shuffle around the room, the queens came up with the following teams:

  • Team one (Haus of Cellar McCartney): Charra Tea, Kiki Snatch and La Voix.
  • Team Two (Haus of Kard$): Zahirah Zapanta, Actavia, and Kyran.
  • Team Three (Haus of Mirrors): Dita Garbo, Rileasa Slaves, and Saki Yew.
  • Team Four (Haus of Zen): Lill, Chanel O’Conor, and Marmalade.

“You are the hottest new fashion houses destined to set the designer world on fire,” Ru exclaimed.

“So for this week’s maxi-challenge, working in teams, you need to create a collection that includes three looks: one Lady Boss Lewk, one Cocktail Party Lewk, and one Red Carpet Lewk.”

“Now I know what you’re asking yourselves: ‘What materials are we going to be using this time?’ I’ve recently decluttered four rooms in my home, and now it’s your turn to transform household materials into haute couture. Now, to determine which team gets which room, you need to reach into my dusty old pink box.”

After cheekily reaching into Ru’s box, Haus of Cellar McCartney was tasked with the Basement, Hausof Kard$ was given the Game Room, Haus of Mirrors received the Disco Room, and Haus of Zen landed the Spa and Wellness.

Before exiting the werkroom, Ru informed the queens that they could use their own hair, jewels, shoes and undergarments, but the rest of their looks needed to be from “her house.

With their task assigned, the teams got to work on their lewks.

Chanel, Marmalade, and Lill thrived with the idea of creating designs due to their shared sewing knowledge.

“Looking at our pile, I’m so glad to have a team with strong sewers, Marmalade said in a confessional.

Chanel echoed similar sentiments, adding: “We’re chill. We’re going to get it done, and regardless if we don’t win, we’re going to have fun.

Halfway through the creative process, Ru returned to the workroom to kiki with the queens – or, in Actavia’s case, read her eyebrows – and get insight into their designs.

After receiving a healthy heap of suggestions and tips from Ru, the ladies hit their sewing machines to bring their sketches to life.

While Haus of Zen thrived with the challenge, chaos reigned supreme for Haus of Kard$ and Haus of Cellar McCartney.

The next day, the ladies returned to the workroom to finish their ensembles and prepare for the main stage.

However, things took an emotional turn when Saki revealed that her time in the competition had prematurely come to an end.

“So I hurt my knee quite bad. So it hurts to walk. I was getting into the shower, slipped and knocked my knee into the wall, she explained to her sisters.

“I am actually going to say goodbye to you all. I’m gutted because it’s not the way I wanted to leave, but I have to be smart about this and really look after my body.

While the news was heartbreaking, the other queens showered Saki with love and support before she exited the workroom.

Due to Saki’s departure, Haus of Mirrors reconfigured their designs to incorporate the former’s materials into their looks.

“I am slightly worried, but equally, Rileasa and I are going to go out there and just kill it, Dita said in a confessional.

After painting their faces and discussing La Voix’s incredible career pre-Drag Race, the ladies strutted across the runway in front of Ru, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton, and guest judge Kristen McMenamy.

At the start of the judges’ critiques, Ru named Kyran, Charra, Dita, and Rileasa as the safe queens before addressing the tops and bottoms of the week.

While Chanel, Dita and Marmalade were lauded for their lewks, Zahirah, Actavia, and Kiki failed to fully wow the panel.

In the end, Ru named Kiki and Acatavia as the bottom two queens of the week.

However, due to Saki’s departure, they were not forced to lip sync for their life.

Instead, the privilege of lip syncing was given to the top three queens of the week – Chanel, Dita and Marmalade.

To the beat of Kylie Minogue’s ‘Tension Haus of Zen laid it all out of the stage, giving drama, comedy, and choreography.

Following their gagworthy performance, Lill was given the RuPeter badge.

Since the episode aired, fans have taken to social media to share their reactions to the twist-filled episode.

One person on X wrote: “Lill winning feels correct. My girl looked correct & polished. So happy for her!”

Another fan tweeted: “Just realized that Ru didn’t even say La Voix when she called out the safe queens, but she still left the stage. I’m screaming what an absolute icon. They probably just edited it out, but idgaf that was so funny to me.

A viewer added: “Saki having to leave with an injury on ep2?? Can’t imagine how devastated she must be.

On next week’s episode of Drag Race UK season six, the queens will be tasked with spoofing the British rom-com.
