Finneas has come to the defence of his sister Billie Eilish over her ‘Guess’ remix verse.
On 2 August, the ‘Birds Of A Feather’ singer teamed up with Charli XCX for the addictive club banger, which is included on the deluxe edition of the former’s viral sixth studio album BRAT.
Since its release, the track has been hailed as a new sapphic anthem due to Eilish’s unapologetically queer lyrics and flirtatious banter aimed at Charli, such as, “Charli likes boys, but she knows I’d hit it” and “Charli, call me if you’re with it”.
While most fans have embraced the ‘Guess’ Remix, a handful of fans took issue with Eilish’s verse, with one TikTok user accusing her of being “predatory.”
“Billie’s verse on Guess is highkey predatory, but y’all blinded by her usual queerbaiting gain,” they wrote, per Pop Crave.
“Ever since the Lost Cause controversy, she’s been reducing girls to mere objects, all in an effort to convince the masses that she’s actually into them lol. Charli is 32 and engaged, FYI.”
In response to the individual’s very hot take, Finneas took to their comment section to defend his sister and call out the past hate she received for allegedly “queer-baiting.”
“What a take, you little clown. I got to watch the entire internet slam my sister for queer-baiting for an entire year when, in reality, you were all forcing her to label and out herself,” he wrote.
It didn’t take long for fans to rally around Finneas and Billie, with many flocking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their support for the duo.

One person wrote: “What a dramatic take, it’s clear that Charli heard the verse beforehand and loved it, he’s acting like Charli is a defenceless victim. Not every intrusive thought needs to be made a think piece on the internet.”
Another fan tweeted: “I just LOVE a protective elder brother-younger sister relationship.”
A third fan added: “Y’all forced this girl out of the closet and when she’s finally being herself, y’all find a reason to hate her for it.”
The ‘Guess’ remix isn’t the first time Eilish’s sexuality has been dissected by “fans” on social media.
In June 2021, the beloved talent was accused of “queerbaiting” following the release of her music video for ‘Lost Cause.’
While Eilish seemingly addressed the backlash with an Instagram post stating, ‘I like girls,’ it did little to satisfy fans, who continued speculate about her sexuality.

When asked about the controversy in an October 2021 interview with Elle, the young talent said: “Like, oh yeah, that’s everyone’s business, right? No,” she said. “Where’s that energy with men?”
Two years later, Eilish’s made headlines again when she told Variety that she was “physically attracted” to women, resulting in speculation online as to whether it was her official ‘coming out’ moment.
Shortly after the video went viral, Eilish took to Instagram to share her feelings on the matter, writing: “Thanks Variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11 am instead of talking about anything else that matters I like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares stream ‘what was I made for’.”
While Eilish has been subjected to invasive inquiries in the past, she has recently started to open up about sexuality through her music – like her track ‘Lunch’ – and in interviews.
In April 2024, the ‘Chihiro’ singer revealed to Rolling Stone that she has been in love with girls her whole life, adding: “I just didn’t understand — until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina.”
