Attention Frank Ocean fans! New music may be on the horizon.
Over the last few years, fans have eagerly awaited the beloved talent’s return to the music sphere.
While Ocean has released a string of singles over the years – like ‘Dear April’ and ‘Cayendo,’ ‘In My Room’ and ‘DHL’ – he has yet to release a follow-up album to his critically acclaimed 2016 album Blonde.
Fortunately, on 8 November, the ‘Thinking About You’ singer surprised his fans by previewing one of his new songs on his Instagram Story.
In the one-minute clip, which features a sleek and synthy production, the 36-year-old Grammy winner can be heard singing introspective lyrics about trying to connect with a guarded partner.
Of course, it didn’t take long for fans to flock to social media to express their excitement over Ocean’s mysterious post.
One person on X (formerly known as Twitter) wrote: “FRANK FINALLY DROPPING NEW MUSIC?? WE’RE SO BACK.”
Another fan posted: “Frank Ocean shared a snippet of new music, I used to dream of times like this.”
As of this writing, the ‘Pink + White’ singer has yet to make an official announcement regarding a new album or single.
Ocean’s music news comes a few months after his controversial headlining performance at Coachella 2023.
During his weekend one appearance, the Homer founder faced backlash for being an hour late, resulting in his set ending early due to curfew rules.

He also refused to livestream his show on the Coachella YouTube channel, much to the dismay of fans who couldn’t attend the festival.
In the days following his set, reports emerged that Ocean was originally going to perform with over 100 skaters on a custom-built ice rink. However, the stage was dismantled hours before the performance due to him suffering a leg injury.
In light of the unfortunate situation, a rep for the “Novacane” singer announced that he would no longer be headlining the second weekend of the Coachella.
“Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity,” a representative for the singer revealed to Variety.
“On doctor’s advice, [Ocean] is not able to perform weekend two due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.”
Ocean added: “It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”
While his performance received mixed reviews, many fans lauded Ocean for reworking some of his hit tracks – like ‘White Ferrari’ and ‘Godspeed’ – and for his heartfelt speech about his late brother – who tragically passed away in 2020.
We can’t wait to immerse ourselves in Ocean’s new music era.
