Young Royals stars Edvin Ryding and Omar Rudberg have released a heartfelt goodbye message after wrapping up filming.
Back in December, Netflix announced that the critically-acclaimed LGBTQ+ drama was renewed for a third season.
In a statement at the time, head writer and co-creator Lisa Ambjörn said: “I’ve always imagined Young Royals being told in three parts, and because of the fans’ dedication to our story, we get to tell the last one.”
Ambjörn added that the ending of Young Royals had been clear to her “from the start” before expressing her gratitude that she could finish the series as she originally intended.
Since April, Ryding, Rudberg and the rest of the cast and crew have been hard at work on the show’s highly anticipated final season.
However on 28 June, the two young talents revealed that filming for the new series ended in a video message posted on Netflix’s Twitter account.
“Hi everybody! This is Edvin and Omar coming to you from the set of Young Royals,” Ryding said
“We just wanted to let you know that Young Royals and season three is done,” Rudberg added.
After opening up about their favourite scene from the final season, the two talents thanked fans for their love and support over the last few years.
“Anyway, we just wanted to say thank you so much for supporting us throughout the years and we really look forward to you seeing this season. We think you’re going to love it,” Ryding said.

Another fan tweeted: “They deserve the world can’t wait to see the work they have done for this season.”
In addition to the aforementioned video, the young talents uploaded emotional statements to their respective social media channels, reflecting on their time with the show.
“Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. These past three years gave me so much more than I ever could have imagined when I stepped into the first audition back in May 2020,” Ryding said on Instagram.
“I can’t emphasize enough how majestic the process of shooting these 3 seasons has been. Every single individual who’s worked on Young Royals has done so in the most extraordinary way every single day.”
Rudberg echoed similar sentiments on Twitter, writing: “Yesterday was a very emotional day for all of us. We’ve wrapped Young Royals forever.
“Can’t really take that in… But I’m so happy and proud. I can’t wait for you guys to see the ending of this story. This is THE season!!!”
