Rebel Wilson introduces fans to new girlfriend: ‘Maybe all I needed was a Disney Princess’

Rebel Wilson has celebrated Pride Month by going public with her new girlfriend.

On 9 June, the Australian actress and comedian confirmed her romance with Lemon Ve Limon founder Ramona Agruma.

“I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of them both.

Wilson, who is yet to define her sexuality, concluded her caption with love heart and rainbow emojis, as well as the hashtag, “#loveislove”.

The star’s post was met with an outpouring of love in the comments, receiving over 90,000 likes in an hour, with her friend Carly Steel calling them a “gorgeous couple” and “dynamic duo”.

Love Island star and model Montana Brown, who is also a close friend of Wilson, wrote: “Love you so much. Lovely people you are.”

In an interview with PEOPLE last month, Wilson revealed that she was set up with her new partner “through a friend” and they “spoke on the phone for weeks” before they met, although she didn’t specifically name Agruma.

“And that was a really good way to get to know each other. It was a bit old-school in that sense — very romantic,” she said.

“I think going through the process of finding more self-worth, I think that what you want in a partner is elevated and so it’s great to have someone who feels like an equal partner and be in a healthy relationship.

“There were times — I’m not saying with all my exes, they’re great — but there were some times that I was probably putting up with that I shouldn’t have. So it feels different to be in a really healthy relationship.”

An anonymous friend of the actress also told PEOPLE: “Rebel’s in an amazing place and I’ve never seen her happier.”

Wilson is best known for her roles in critically-acclaimed comedies such as Bridesmaids (2011), Bachelorette (2012), the Pitch Perfect film series (2012-2017), Isn’t It Romantic and Jojo Rabbit (both 2019).

More recently, she appeared in the original Netflix comedy Senior Year. The film stars Wilson as Steph Conway, a 37-year-old woman who decides to go back to high school to earn her diploma after spending 20 years in a coma.

Senior Year also stars Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland, Justin Hartley, Chris Parnell, Michael Cimino, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Brandon Scott Jones and Alicia Silverstone.
